I heard a few rumours about the new Intel Graphics actually being a HUGE improvement over the "Extreme" flop. I'm wondering if there's anything interesting by way of Int.GFX these days?

Intel, ATI IGP (I heard of a 9600IGP in the works) and nForce imbedded....

The initial benchmarks for the next gen Intel DX9 graphics were rather slow from my memory. They said they were mainly targeted to meet Longhorn desktop requirements. Not sure where I saw it though.

I know this isn't a hot topic, but it's always nice when the "minimum" bar is raised.
For most of us, a Radeon 9600 non-pro for "free" on your motherboard would be most welcome!

Like anyone cares, but it appears the new imbedded Intel graphics - GMA900 - is double the performance of the Radeon IGP9100.

Quite impressive actually... that's some decent "free" video! Pity it's on such an expensive motherboard/processor combination.

Link to pertinent info.

Well it's not quite 9600 scores but more like a Ti 4200. But still a step in the right direction, depending on how much bandwidth it sucks up.
