These switches might be just the thing to tie your network together, if you have been thinking of upgrading to 2.5GbE-T for the workstations, and 10GbE-T for your LAN backbone and NAS, like I have.

I *just* saw these, they appear to be fairly new.

List price for a D-Link managed switch (I have two of them) with 8-port 2.5GbE-T and 2-port 10GbE SFP+ was ~$500, so @ $299, the QNAP switch hits a new decent price-point.

Both are managed, BTW, with a web GUI.

Don't forget QNAP's 5-port unmanaged 2.5GbE-T switch with loop detection as well. Currently ~$130.

Edit: Also don't forget QNAPs "QHORA" router, with dual 10GbE ports on it, and Wifi AX 3600.

I wonder if we will see a product refresh of that router, with 2x 10GbE as well as 4x 2.5GbE soon? If so, I would wait.

Hopefully in a couple of days, I will be ordering the 10GbE/2.5GbE QNAP switch with combo ports, and possibly, the QHORA router. I have yet to see any in-depth reviews of the software functionality of it, which is key to utility and performance, and that's fairly important to me. QNAP is a fairly unknown quantity as far as consumer routers go, IMHO. Their switches thus far have been pretty OK, AFAIK, but I don't know that I would go for their routers. Then again, at the ~$300 price-point, there's no other consumer routers out there that have both 10GbE WAN as well as LAN ports, AFAIK. So there's that. (Asus has their "upside-down spider" super-duper AX6000 or AX12000 router, with dual 10GbE ports on it, I believe, but that costs $450 and up, when it's not being scalped. It will route 9GbE WAN-to-LAN, according to some testing done by someone with a 10GbE consumer internet connection over in Singapore.)

Not bad, 8 2.5G ports for $299 or $249 (only 2 sfp ports) vs $239 for the old model which just had 8 1G ports.

I see it has a fan, hopefully its quiet.

Great observation--thank you for sharing it! Hopefully this means that finally the 2.5Gb ICs are starting to get to the same price as 1Gb. Because the day that happens, 2.5Gb will explode into the mainstream. :D

Nice. QNAPs "QHORA" router even comes with advanced feature like SD-WAN, and it's free!

That should make VPN much easier.
