I looked at Steam today and noticed two new (and best of all -- cheap) indie games...
Garshasp: The Monster Slayer
Hydrophobia: Prophecy
I've poked around the net to see if I could find any decent reviews about these games. From what I could find, Garshasp is like God of War ( and in the words of Yahtzee )... but... it isn't as good. Supposedly it's pretty darned short (3.5 hours according to a review) and the combat isn't as fluid as GoW (supposedly you can't go from mid-attack to rolling like you can in GoW). But other than that, they didn't seem to mind it much. One of the big points was that the game didn't have a price tag yet, so they couldn't really tell if it was worth it monetarily. For $20 (on sale right now for $18)... it might be alright... providing you have a game pad.
Apparently, Hydrophobia: Prophecy is a port of a 2-year old XBOX Live Arcade title of similar name. Although, the main point I got out of a review is that while this is pretty much the same game, the developer fixed a lot of the issues that were brought up with the 360 version. So thank you XBOX fans for being our guinea pigs! I haven't tried this one, but I'm curious whether or not it will be like Beyond Good and Evil (without the camera).
Any thoughts? Anyone try either of these games? There are also a few other new indie games, but these two kind of stood out at me.
