And this was in Oregon...

I filled up at a Shell station in Hillsboro(near Intel/Winco on Cornell) while I was there for the weekend and I saw a pump w/o the nozzle and the whole hose assembly on the ground. Attendant said someone drove off w/ the nozzle still in the car.

This is Oregon where you have to get an attendant to pump your gas by law.

Afterall, the law must be there in order to make low skill labor positions rather than "safety".

I did that once... 😱

I received a call from my roommate that my the hospital called and said that my gf had been admitted from a car accident. Without thinking I hopped in and drove off. Oops!

I see in the future a designated parking area where you have to park and let an attendant drive up to the pump.

Hope she was alright!

I've driven behind one of these guys who drove off with the pump still in their tank before. I absolutely couldn't believe my eyes... that people (this is NY) can be that oblivious to their surroundings. I mean, didn't they hear a loud thump when they pulled the thing out of the gas pump ?
