The A5 in the iPad is different from the A5 that will be in the iPhone 5.

The A5 in the iPad 2 uses a PowerVR SGX 543MP2, while by all indications, due to thermal and battery considerations, the iPhone 5 will use a PowerVR SGX 543 -- 4 SIMD units vs 8 in the iPad 2.

We don't know what the iPhone 5 will have. No one does.

Apple, Samsung and HTC get most attention but I wonder what LG is up to. They were bold with the last gen, had the first dual core, they were the first to give a OMAP4 a shot. I was kind of hoping that they would make the next Nexus, Google's supervision would have prevented ugly design and software issues. I hope they finally put together a good selling phone.

They just unveiled the SGS2 LTE and SGS2 HD

Does that mean the SGS3 rumor is false?

I'm happy that they finally upped the resolution from 480x800 to 1280x720 with the HD version, but damn, that phone keeps getting bigger! (4.65" screen)

I am intrigued but a quad core version with a next gen GPU would really hit the spot.

It'll be the same size as your 4.3" phone. The extra screen space replaces the buttons at the bottom of your phone with on-screen ones.

It still has physical buttons, dimensions are 129.8 x 68.8 x 9.5 mm while the regular gs2 is 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5 mm

Where are you getting this idea?

Maybe the other nets aren't ready to have LTE go live yet, but the SGS2 HD LTE pretty much guarantees that the Verizon version will.

read the galaxy nexus description in the op post. that would be really screwed up

You mean the utterly baseless and unsourced speculation that Exynos doesn't work with LTE? Somebody should tell Rogers that the SGS2 LTE they're releasing doesn't actually exist. Ditto the SGS2 HD LTE.

You guys are forgetting the Vigor/Rezound heading to Verizon Oct/Nov the latest. Assuming it's weaker for not having the Exynos, it's still has a 1280x720 display and LTE, IMO much better value than Bionic.

well, it's being released in Korea. it makes no sense to me, either, that LTE wouldn't work on exynos, unless the LTE version in Korea use some new updated exynos that doesn't exist in current sgs2.

Samsung just outed their 1.5 GHz Exynos 4212, but I'm almost 100% confident the Verizon "Galaxy Nexus" device will have a TI OMAP 4460 clocked at either 1.2ghz or 1.5ghz unless they did a major redesign (early hardware hat the TI chip clocked at 1.2ghz...but Samsung could've done that as a testbed for ICS while working on the final hardware.)

I think it's given now that Prime will have OMAP. Everybody saw the picture of the Android with the Texas Instrument cowboy hat and mustache early last month.
