Gas prices down to like 86c/litre (normally like 1.10ish) at some stations, but not all. Not sure what's going on but it is kind of funny to see the huge crowds it's attracting. The Canadian Tire gas bar was packed when I past by on the way to Tim Hortons before work.

Thought it was interesting to see, I've seen the odd ball "gas sale" but this is more than one station doing it, so something is happening.

You seemed to care enough to reply. :p

86 cent gas is pretty much unheard of here so it is kinda a big deal. Though not really a big deal enough knowing it's temporary. I just find it interesting that it's happening. Someone is taking a huge loss selling it that cheap, or a few gas stations somehow came across really cheap gas. It did go below a dollar a few times since 9/11 but other than that it's always been over a dollar since then.

Man... you Canadians pay way too much for gas. Even your sale prices are much more expensive than what we pay in the states.

Cheap gas attracts a lot of idiots. I always LOL at the lines to buy gas at Costco when I go to eat a restaurant right next to it. People wait 30 minutes in their car, while it's running and burning gas, to save like 3 dollars.

^ this.

The only gas "discounter" near me is Kroger but it's usually not a ton cheaper than other local stations (though Kroger rewards can bump the per-gallon savings up to $.30/gal). Sometimes I'll go in to get gas and see that there are lines...I ain't waiting in a line for a commodity, sorry. I'll pay an extra dollar or two elsewhere to not have to wait 5+ minutes - I just don't have a lot of patience for crap like that.

That's nice. As long as you don't see people wearing things like this:

You don't, right?

And they keep wanting to increase it. They're going to be adding a "carbon tax" soon on top of existing carbon taxes. if you want to reduce carbon, this is not the answer, we still need to buy it. Change what the standard is, if you want to reduce carbon. Make electric cars the standard, bring hydro prices down to like 1/10 so it's viable to heat with electricity... but no, they just want to tax us to death instead.

Oh and the real kicker is, the carbon tax is actually going to be taxed. So you will pay an additional % tax on based on how much carbon tax you pay.

...and it's back to like 108 lol. Better than 140 though, that's what it was years ago before the oil price dropped. Highest I've seen is 170. They were calling for 2 bucks at one point.

Oh right there is two kinds of gallons, honestly not sure then. Maybe it is 4.5l / gallon. Another reason metric is better. There is only one kind of litre. :p
No, there's two. The kind spelled litre and the kind spelled liter. Fortunately they're the same size. :p
