just got off the phone with my uncle... so far there has been no word back. police report has been filied, she is still ignoring letters and phone calls... and i really am not sure what should be done. taking her to small claims really isn't a hassle for myself, i have a pretty open schedual, it just that one a ruling is made (which would more than likely be in my favor, since i do have a witness now that has no relation to me) it's still just that, and would still have to fight to get payment.
im looking towards ATOT for some advice... since im somewhat out of ideas at this point.

sorry for no update, i was out at the lakes yesterday. i actually just got up to take one of those morning beer sh*ts and i had a IM from an OT'er telling me to update 😛
yesterday at about 3 the manager that drove by called me up, i guess they finally figured out who it was and gave her my contact information. we talked for a bit and then she said that if it was necessary she could testify that she witnessed the man say that they would cover the repairs, so it's good to know that i have someone to back me up. a few min later she went on to say how it wasen't the first time those kids have been reported to Goldmark (the management company)... so, well not sure there i guess.
as for the lady, there was no word from her yesterday. so i guess i'll be meeting monday with my uncles to figure out where we are going to go with this next.
believe me, the last post i make in this thread will have pics of a once again near flawless truck 🙂

just got off the phone with the officer. turns out the lady didn't even give me her real information, she gave me her maiden name, not her actual last name, and she isn't even living at the place where all this went down (she lives with her brother, that is her mothers apt.) she then told the officer that she was under the impression that she had till the end of the week to be in contact with us. the officer told me that she said (officer) "last time i looked, thursday is at the end of the week." lol 😀
eitherway. i now have her actual name, ss # dob address that she is staying at, along with her cellular # and home #. this goes the same for her brother and the son that threw the rock.
the officer said that she would hold processing the report till 4pm (lastest they can do one so that it would still be on the same day?) unless she heard from me saying otherwise.
guess i find out tomorrow if i get paid or not.

after not hearing back from them last night i said i would call the cops and i did. the officer just left and is headed to their apt. as i type this. she told me she would call back in about 1 hour or less, after hopfully speaking with the people. updates to come 🙂

welp, no word. i called to talk to her, she hung up on me. at this point i just said fvck it. off to the police station i go tomorrow when i get home.

between last wed and this wed this is what has happened:
- went to two local body shops, both gave estimates in the 450 range, because the position of the dent on the door they say they won't guarentee color match unless they paint both doors. (thursday 8.7)
- i called the father of the parents that evening and explained to him because of the type of paint that is on the truck (color changing blue/purple/black) and the position of the dent that it will be 450ish to repair. he tells me that he dosen't have the money and asked if he could be put on a payment plan, i said i would make a few calls and get back to him in the morning (thursday 8.7)
- the next morning i called my insurance agent (also my uncle 🙂 ) and told him what happened, gave them their information and went in to take pictures of my truck. he said that he would contact them and try to get something settled without having to get nasty. (friday 8.8)
- after numerous attempts to contact them (mostly the machine or the mother of the father of the children (must take care of the kids?)) he finally got a hold of mother, who then hung up the phone. he then contacted his attourney (also my uncle 🙂 ) who also was hung up on (between friday 8.8 and monday 8.11)
- my uncle (insurance agent) sent a letter out in the morning explaining that we would not let this rest and that they would be paying one way or another, he also stated that they have 3 days to contact him and make good. this should arrive today 8.13 (letter sent 8.11)
- still no contact today (8.13) i called and left a message saying that if i did not hear back from them by 8 tonight, they would hear from our attourney and the FPD (fargo popo 😛 ) first thing thursday morning
- i contacted the management of the apt. building to try and find out who the rep was they had out there that day, he called about 1 hour ago with the ladies name and phone number, so i now have a witness to all of this (yay 🙂 )
some of you will think i'm being a bas*ard about all this, others will agree, it wasen't my fault the kid threw the rock at my otherwise flawless pickup, and it certainly isn't my place to repair something that someone else did. it is my place to get retrubution for this and have it all repaired and my truck returned to it's mint condition.
on a side note, after i talked with an officer this morning (didn't file a report, just spoke with him about the situation) he informed me that because the child was 4-5 years old, the father/mother are responsible, thus the vandilizim (sp? i really dont care 😛) charges will be in their names. sucks for them 😉
i am personally hoping that this dosen't end up in the courts, but if it has to, i'll be there. i'll make sure to update before the week is through.

should i call the cops and file a report or let it go? i have the mothers information, and she said that she would take care of it... and i'm pretty sure that it isn't $500 in damage so... ?
story:
driving home from work, about two blocks from my appartment, i drive by two kids standing in the driveway to the parking lot of their apt. the littler one whips a rock at the door of my truck (00' F150) hits just below the window, leaves a dent (small about the size that golfball size hail would leave) and a couple of scratchs (two about 6" and 4"). i hit the skids and jump out, chase the kid down (probably about 5) grab his arm and yell to his brother, or the other kid that was with him to get his mother outside so i can speak with her (well... differen't wording and tone 😛) mom comes out lookin like she is going to beat some ass because the kid is bawling. i show her the dent, as were taking the super of the apt. drives up 😀 he speaks with her breifly and says "this can NEVER happen again or there WILL be bigger problems" then drives off and storms inside the building (who knows why this happened, sort of shocked me) anyway. she gives me her name addy and telephone number and tells me that she will take care of everything and that she is sorry it happened.
oh well... now i can get the other dent in the door fixed 🙂
