well, its says ATI radeon, and it gives the product link to the ATI site. Its OEM, so the clock speed must be reduced. Not sure how much OEMs are under retail for the 7500, but I hear they o/c like crazy.

The description also has the dreaded phrase "Powered by" though. The ATI OEM's I have seen have the ATI name on the board and also an ATI fan sticker (less meaningfull) and have 4ns DDR RAM which you can see by the last digit(s) on the memory itself. You can always google the entire memory part number. I beleive the retails generally have 3.6ns. But as said, they all seem to o'erclock like clazy. If it has an FCC ID you can look that up at, oddly enough, fcc.gov

Anyhow do you think that it was a good deal?
for $75.00...
I just got an original RADEON for $45.00 shipped from Compuvest, and then I saw this deal...
heard that 7500's are good performers + i was hoping for TV/OUT and DVI.... so I got it...

OK!
It is an "OEM" version, "powered by ATI", so it is not made by ATI.
I have find out who is the manufacturer, and according to the spects on the website
this card should be designated as Radeon 7500 LE instead of Radeon 7500
because it is clocked on 250/183 Mhz down from 290/230 on the "retail" Radeon 7500
thats a big diffrience... see for yourself, this particular card has been made by Sapphire Technology on
Taiwan....linky and it will be much
slower than the cards used throughout the reviews.. I guess it is not such a great buy after all.
At this point I really hope I will be able to "overclock it" (funny) to the retail specification....
ATI made a great job with the new Radeons, but currently, marketingwise, it starts to be very
very confusing... also see the other good articles about ATI RADEON 7500 clones

hm, I'm not sure if this is a good card or not. Sapphire cards have their own drivers, I can't remember if this is the only brand that does not work with normal ATI drivers or not, might want to find that out first.

What about the unofficial set of
drivers from www.rage3d.com?
I mean I dont really think that Spphire will devote enough money and resources
to keep developing drivers, and eliminating bugs in them....
Egrh :(

You might want to check Thread. Then check this Thread, you might post there to see if he is able to use ATI drivers after flashing his card.

They actually use base ATI drivers, but they change them some way. Their driver release is actually a beta ATI driver with the same numbering system. I don't think they are really developing much.

Sort of like the omega drivers, the guy just uses ATIs base drivers, and changes some things.

From what I heard about one type of ATI card, is that the ATI installer (not the actual drivers), won't recongize it as an ATI card. It will not install, probably due to some bios change they made. I'm guessing their drivers are a new installer, maybe some changes, but not much.

It might be a good card then after some tweaking......
so maybe I should quit whining....

OK!
The sapphire card is weird and it is very difficult to tweak it using programs such us powerstrip, for some
reason the new settings would not work.. so to overclock it permanently just flash the bios in the card itself.
For precise directions, see all the messages in the links provided by rbV5... After some effort it might run stable at full retail
spects...
Thank you all for all the feedback and I will keep you posted how its gonna work out for my card!
Regards,
Adam

Welp, you did save 20% but I would rather have the ATI OEM 270/230 for the extra dinars. Unfortunately they do not carry that one anymore.
