some hotdogs - pack of 7, hotdog bun - pack of 8, why?

anyone know why some hotdogs are sold in packs of 7, while buns are packed in 8's?
does it have to do with the illuminati?

its a conspiracy to get you to buy 8 packages of weiners, and 7 packages of buns.

mine come in 8 or 10, I've never seen one come in packs of 7. I buy a lot of hotdogs because I have 4 kids. kids love hotdogs.

...because sometimes it takes 7 to equal 1lb, and sometimes it takes 8.
Also because Hebrew National's slogan is "We answer to a higher authority" so it only makes sense they'd use 7.

What's that Steve Martin movie where he starts ripping open the hot dog bun packages and removing the extra buns, then yells at the store employees about how he isn't paying for the buns he doesn't need?

Yeah, it used to be 8 hot dogs and 10 buns.

I think they wanted you to:

Buy one package of each
Use all hot dogs for dinner
Realize you have 2 extra buns
Buy more hot dogs a couple days later so you won't waste those 2 left over buns.
Buy another package of buns because you don't want to have leftover hot dogs go to waste,
etc, etc, etc


EDIT: I've got 4 kids as well, so I do buy a lot of hot dogs. Lately I've been splurging on the all beef dogs since they are so much better than those damn chicken and pork hot dogs.
