Some help with touch up paint

Ok folks I'm trying to get this touch up paint that I purchased from the dealer (Daimler Chrysler) to properly match but I don't seem to be having any luck. I know it's the right paint as I brought in my VIN number and had them do the paint match based upon that. But the color does not quite match. I've tried buffing it using a finishing bonnet for my electric hand buffer but that doesn't seem to be helping either. The color is Onyx Green if that gives you folks an idea at all. Any idea how to get this paint so that it doesn't stand out so much from the original paint on the car?

It doesn't match because the paint on the car has probably faded from being exposed over time. When a body shop paints something like a fender on an older vehicle, they'll start with the factory color but then match it by eye to the fading. I'm not sure if you could get them to do that for such a small amount though.

I could also be the touchup match sux...my wife's car is new and the dealership's paint is about two shades darker. My black matches perfectly and I have 100k on mine.
