I got an AVI thats about 720 mb. Its a bit too big for a cd. I was wondering what programs I need to compress it so it can fit on a cd, and then be easy to extract onto a hdd. You think it'd be small enough to fit an extra 10 mb of related stuff if I compressed it? Thanks!

I would try to see if you can overburn it onto the CD-R. Some CD-Rs have up to 2 minutes of extra space that can be used in overburning. Another option is to use a program like Virtualdub and cut out small, unimportant sections from the AVI, such as credits, intros to make it physically fit. Given the high compression levels of most video codecs, zipping may not reduce the size of the video enough and would also make it less convenient to access.

I suppose Ill just split it, but it seems like a waste with all that extra room left on the cd.
