Some help with building a computer for my bro

Hello, I am going to be building a system for my bro, but it's been a while since I was really into computers so I'm really out of date as to what hardware to get. The system I put together on ebuyer.com is as follows:

Asustek M2V AM2 VIAK8T890 Sound, Gigalan And USB 2.0 2000MHz FSB

Corsair 2gb Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-4200/533Mhz (VS2GBKIT533D2) 240 Pin 1.8V

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ (2.4GHz) Socket AM2 Retail Boxed Processor

Sapphire X1950Pro 256MB 256bit GDDR3 Dual DVI TVO HDCP PCI-E

Western Digital WD5000AAJS 500GB SATA II 7200RPM 16MB Cache - OEM

Antec Basiq Power 500W ATX 12V PSU

As well as other stuff like speakers, mouse, keyboard etc. Mostly I'd like to know if all this stuff is compatible with each other? The whole "AM2" socket confuses me, is it compatible with the processor I chose? Any advice is much appreciated, mostly this computer will be used for the internet, movies and stuff, but my bro also likes Microsoft Flight Simulator X, which I understand needs a pretty decent system.

P.S. Ignore the previous title for this thread, it was down to an accidental press of enter...

Everything looks good to me, although I personally would not get a VIA chipset. Also, Flight Sim, from what I understand, is heavily CPU-reliant, so you might want a more powerful CPU.

I know Via isn't the computer enthusiast's choice (at least it wasn't back in my day!), but this system won't be OCed or anything, just running stock. How would this be as a more powerful processor? (it's about £80 more expensive though)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ (2.6ghz) Socket AM2 Dual Core 1MB Cache Windsor

I take it that's still compatible with the same motherboard? What about the graphics card, is getting a midrange one viable for playing something like Flight Simulator X?

edit: @ GuitarDaddy: Cheers, wasn't aware of that!
