hey there everybody..
I have got a problem with my pc & despite trying everything i still haven't been able to pinpoint the exact problem so before i throw my PC outa window i thought about discussing it over here..i hope you guys do help me out!

My PC specifications are as follows:

AMD 3500+ (AM2)
MSI's nforce 410/430 K9N (Motherboard)
Kingston's 2GB DDR 2 RAM (667 MHz)
Seagate's Barracuda 250GB
XFX's 8800 GTS (320mb/320bit)
Cooler Master's 500W PSU

(apart from the other usual hardware stuff)

The problem is that my PC automatically shuts down whenever i try playing any game or any hardware intensive application ONLY..I have tried replacing the current RAM with the new one apart from re-installing updated drivers of my GPU but still it hasn't been of much use..now i do know that nothing's wrong with my GPU as i tried running games/applications on my integrated graphics chipset..neither there's any problem with the DIMMS or with their slots as well..I also installed a fresh copy of my OS but it didn't work either (i knew it wasn't going to be of much use but i did:S)

Could any of you help me out in narrowing down the faulty module(s) as i have tried doing whatever i could..Is it due to capacitor leakage in PSU/Motherboard or it has something to do with CPU/Motherboard? I need some direction as to the problem. If anyone could offer some concrete advice/assistance I'd truly appreciate it.

Thanks!

There are several things that could cause an immediate shutdown upon launching a resource intensive application. Typically it is either heat related or power supply related. My guess would be the power supply since overheating unless very severe will cause slowdown and then shutdown. Have you checked your voltages?

Well i don't think it has to do anything with the heating as i have tried running these resource intensive applications whilst the CPU/System Temperature's been below 40 degree celsius!
As for checking voltage..i don't know how to do so:$
