well, i have a couple of questions,

right now, i have this HDTV

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/prod...duct_id=4872141.

i got this from a friend for $400. now this is even before i had ANY knowledge of what HDTV was, (IE- 720p,1080i/p etc)

now its a great tv, but i think im ready for something a little "Better".

know, right now i use this TV mostly for Xbox 360 (i love gears of war) and watching dvds on the xbox 360 via composite cables, i also have this tv set to 1080i via the xbox video settings.

i also use this tv for SDTV, and i also use this machine as my "tivo" type machine.

Now, here comes the difficult part...

im currently looking at these tvs.
Costco Link

know, its a great tv, read ALOT of reviews, but i just a bit undecided as, $800 is still ALOT of money to me.

then comes this set,
the 37inch olevia @ frys, for $550, deal is no longer valid, but comes and goes every other week, here is the same tv for references.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16889022023.

does anybody have pictures of these sets hooked up to xbox 360? possibly playing gears of war or any other games?

i think the Westinghouse is a good deal, just the no tuner thing kinda turns me off, even though i probably wont be using an over the air HDTV antenna.

i also wont probably get a directv hdtv box or tivo ( i currently have an directv) nor getting an hd-dvd addon for my 360 since i dont want to invest my money into a possably uncertain video format.

any input is greatly appreciate, and thanks in advance!

1080p is only really a benefit when you are a)using your TV as a computer b)pumping native 1080p content into it or c)when you have a really large screen size. Considering that most next-gen games are still coming out in 720p with only a couple hitting 1080p I don't think you would lose anything by sticking with the Olevia. Broadcast TV (OTA or Satallite) isn't going to hit 1080p anytime soon. If you aren't going to get an HD player and you aren't going to hook up a computer to the display, then save the money. If you want to be a bit more future proof or might want to try the PC hookup then go 1080p.

thanks for the info.

now all i got to do is to try to find some home pics of olevia displaying sd content, and displaying xbox 360, with possibly gears of war, just so i can get a view of how it will look over my current TV.

thanks for the input Venkman, much appreciated.
