I Kind of wanted to stay with Nvidia as I always had good luck with them and their drivers so kind of hard for me to make the switch but just to hard to resist the HD 7950 (3GB-384bit- price & the 2 free games) imo. I just prefer 7950 spec/price ratio vs. the GTX 670 2GB - 256bit & price imo. So I am thinking about ordering the Sapphire 7950 3L today $289.00 shipped and give this card a try. I'm not into oc GPU's but I am considering a mild oc (thinking 1025-1075) due to this card nice GPU/specs/oc this time around but just for some games and back to stock for normal desktop usage and video editing.
So I have a couple questions if anyone can help/answer.
I have seen posted that the DX9 game problem on some DX9 games has been fixed with newer drivers can anyone else confirm this?
I have read new drivers are coming out possibly Monday?, but what are the best AMD drivers (13.1 or 13.3?) out as of today?
I decided on the Sapphire 3L Dual X over the Sapphire Vapor X on the 3L being $30.00 cheaper.
I know of the below differencesbetween the two but are there any other differences than listed below between these two cards?
Vapor X better cooling but the 3L Dual X is still decent cooling as far as I have read?
The 3L has a new smaller custom PCB where as the Vapor X has the reference PCB but I have no plans for water cooling.
Vapor X 850/950 vs. 3L 850/925
Vapor X 6+8 pin and some are 8+8 pin
3L 6+6 pin
I believe the 3L is voltage unlocked?
