Some guy was just following me around

Ok, I admit, I ended up in a stoplight race with this guy, if somewhat unintentional. When two lanes merge into one, I tend to just gas it since I don't like being stuck behind giant SUVs. I've never really had any problems doing that, but in this case, I was like sh*t, I'm barely passing this guy. He pulled into a different lane, so nothing happened, but afterward he followed me around for 3 miles or so.

It became crystal clear he was following me around when he pulled into the residential area I live in. Obviously you can't let people follow you to your home, so I took an alternate and swung back on to a main road. Eventually he gave up and went another way.

Is there anything I should be concerned about? It's completely possible that he got my license number and I do park my car outside.

i had a friend who used to follow people around too, when they pissed him off driving. usually he just gave up and got bored. they type who tend to do that are the type who are easily distracted.

That sounds harsh - I've had people follow me, too, but I always make sure to steer clear of my home or work.

why do people follow other people around? that's really lame and retarded.

btw, is there such a device you can put on your car that'll cover up a license plate when you press a button? i mean, that sounds pretty useful in situations like this 🙂
 
one time some dumbass in a jeep almost pulled out in front of me. my friend turned towards him, flicked him off w/ both hands and yelled "wtf!!!!"

well, this guy proceeded to follow me, and he was PISSED! he was right on my ass, if he would have got his hands on me/us...oh man.....

i even cut through a parking lot when i almost got stuck at a red light...the dude kept right on my ass :Q

finally he gave up. scariest thing thats happened to me driving.
 
When someone is following you, if you know where it is, just drive to the nearest police station. They usually won't pull in behind you when you pull into the parking lot..
 
you should have stopped and backed into him and got an insurance claim, because its always the person from behind that causes it right?

On time a bunch of us were caravaning to a friend's house, and some dude starting following one of the cars containing this total fox friend of ours.
We got to the house, this guy is still parked out front 20 minutes later.
We call police. Turns out the guy is "mentally incompetent"--he started crying, etc.
Oh well..

In your case, I'm guessing he was mad and wanted to scare you.
 
I had this asshole follow me around once and he wouldn't quit. Everytime I looked in my rearview mirror, there he was. And he had these annoying flashing lights and a siren, jeez, what's that about?
 

Yeah just before he headed off, I pulled out my cell and was thinking about calling 911. I was thinking about pulling into a police station, but at the time I didn't remember where one was, since I live in a nice peaceful suburb. Oh well, I'll probably be ok, like I said I didn't lead him to where I live.

How do you claim it when he pulls his .44 out and shoots you because he is mentally imbalanced... Coulda got some just released prisoner or worse OJ Simpson would be behind the wheel w/ some cutlery.

All I have to say is Kids watch out people these days are 10 times more weird and serious behind the wheel than even when I started driving 13 years ago. Heck I personally know 4-5 people that go nowhere w/o a gun under their seat in the car! Personally I think that is not to bright cause where I live if you pull a gun you better intend to use it or you in deep sh!t. Also we have a legal concealed gun law so you never know who is pack'n a 9:Q

I do not understand why more people cannot remember their brains as well as their keys before they get into a car...

exman, well i have to say, i think i might get a gun at some point, but only to protect myself against these crazy people that like to follow others around!
 
Man I get followed ALL the freaking time... I think it may have something to do with my inability to drive well. Once I notice someone's following me I just gun it for a while, not too many people will follow at that speed and then I slow down again once they're outta sight. I have no clue what I would do if they sped up with me... Hopefully that day'll never come.

If the guy is crazy enough to follow you he might not care about the policeman, unless he sits out front all night w/ a Shotgun. Heck my Best friend is a Copper and across the street his copper friend and there are drug busts and robberies often enough. So don't feel that protected... it has the makings of a B movie called "PsychoDriver" 😛

I have a weird friend's dad who plays video poker and steers with his knee and a guy cut him off and he followed him for like an hour, he is a smart person, I dont know what is the matter with him though, he was just trying to freak the guy out.
 
Next time scream out the window:

"If you're gonna ride my a55 like that, you could at least buy me dinner first"

I find it funny that you cut people off and your suprised that they follow you. A friend of mine followed the guy til he stopped and beat the sh!t out of him when we were in HS. Sometimes you get what you ask for.
