Some guy signed up at MySpace

So I'm getting an email every time this losers gets a new friend or receives a photo message. At first I thought it was spam, but all the links go to the myspace.com domain.

How do I find out who the guy is and get him to fix his email? I could always go to myspace and request a password reset and log on as him.

You should log on as him and just change the email address to something nonsensical. "235123SDasf@34235asdf2.edu

Doesn't MySpace send a confirmation e-mail to make sure the address is valid before activating the account? Either they don't or you accidently clicked on the activation link.

Trust me, it's tempting.

I imagine if it were possible to log in without changing the password, I'd just make small changes here and there periodically. Change dates, remove friends, make fonts all huge.......stuff he'd attribute to MySpace being buggy. LOL.

Still I'm not sure that's legal and even if it were, that just wouldn't be proper.

I had the same thing happen to me about a couple months ago. This guy also used my address to order stuff from Amazon, and sign up to a few other dating sites. So I'm sure it wasn't a mistake, but I don't understand why he wouldn't just use his own? I ended up logging into his myspace account and changed his email address, deleted his friends, and changed his password so he wouldn't be able to log in again. I did the same to the other sites where he had used my address. I haven't heard a thing for 2 months now. I unsubscribed everything I could.

Can you do like a password reminder? (Assuming you know his account name) <- or do you not need an account name to log on?

This way you could log on using the same password as he uses without him even knowing.

Then you can start the Pwnage. Of course you would be obliged to post a link to his account here so we can view the malicious changes. :D

That's how I was able to retrieve the password for my situation.

HeroOfPellinor: Don?t let us down, this thread could become very interesting.

At least find out the account and post a link to it here.

I'm all for some harmless good-natured tomfoolery, but watch, I'd probably be branded a cyber terrorist and sued for libel or some sh!t.

OP is a liar.

I don't use MySpace, so I can't attest to how the signup process is done, but I also had someone using my email address for their MySpace page. So apparently there is some way around the verification process if it is in fact done through an email.

Yeah, I just looked it up and I got that confirmation email which I didn't click. It even included the password, so I guess I don't even need to reset it. So apparently there's some way around the confirmation link.
