Some good things about the D2OL outage

With all the frustration about the problems at Sengent I thought maybe it?s time to post some positive things about the outage.

1) Don?t feel guilty playing UT2003
2) Finally get around to defragging the hard drives
3) Re-encode all those video files you?ve been capturing
4) Shutting down the PC?s and cleaning the dust bunny?s out the cases
5) Cooler temps in the room since the PC?s aren?t under load, (could also be a negative since it?s chilly outside)
6) Not having to repeatedly check for stuck candidates.

I?m sure there?s more so add to the list, (a little humor is always good).

🙂 I have a lot to do.... Later this week 4 more systems to build for the project and at least I can shut down long enough to install my KVM and trouble shoot my network better.

Im thinking about restoring my main box to Win2k since Ill have 10 nodes working soon. Linux is great for speed but I cant make heads or tails of all the crap you gotta do to install every convenience item. I guess Im spoiled to Windows easy ways.

Hey, I might even have time to speak to the spouse for a little while tonight.. I think she thought I moved out weeks ago.. LOL 🙂

7) Kick major butt in SETI race.
8) Give a little contribution to the DF team.

It feels good for a day or two but this project and this team will in the end suffer as a result of the outage.

I very much like #8! Team TA DF needs more members and the more the merrier! Gives m0ti a little more work to do on the stats!😀
