Love these stories. Awesome GSD, OP.

Our friend's GSD did a similar thing when a homeless guy made threatening remarks and gestures at us, while we ate in a sidewalk patio at a restaurant. Guy was drunk and belligerent, bugging everyone. Wife told him to fuck off. He said words, I stood up and the dog stood with me, heckles up and teeth bared. Dude stumble ran away.

Restaurant gave him some doggy treats in appreciation.

Who's a good boy! :awe:

GS's can be really scary looking dogs. My brother in law has one that's about as scary looking as yours. About as sweet and playful as she can be, but looks scary.

A dog better enjoy that first bite it gets in me because its losing its eyes the second it clamps down on me. If you enter a fight with a dog just come to terms with the fact you may get bit, and then ram your fingers into its eye sockets.

Yeah good luck with that.

I actually saw that in Japan...uncommon to see dogs, very rare to see big dogs, but I got to see some small Japanese lady riding on a huge ass dog.

I love a good fist fight, especially with a drunk (easy pickens) but i just dont understand the logic behind fearing a dog. Itd be one thing if you had a hyena with you like men do in Africa but any full grown man can kick the shit out a dog. Why would you put your dog at risk like that?

I agree about the drunks, but damn dude, you strike me as someone who doesn't have much exposure to dogs. You do realize there is a reason K9 units are so effective, right?

My breed of dogs keep hyenas at bay in the African areas they are deployed. Also, pet hyenas are stupid Nigerian status thing, half the time they are muzzled so as not to attack the owner. Protection instincts are not ingrained in hyenas the way it is with domesticated canines.

A 50lb Airdale can ruin your day. Please believe me that going toe to toe with a pissed off full grown male mastiff or cane corso is NOT a cakewalk you think any grown man can take!

I have to go feed my pups here shortly, might take a picture of some logic creating jaws for you... ;)

Same with mine. He's actually super friendly to everyone, but looks scary. He's never once growled in his entire existence at a person. He just doesn't like loud noises. So when someone knocks on the door, it is bark bark bark. But as soon as I open the door he stops barking and starts wagging his tail once he see's it is a person.

It is funny to take him for a walk though. People literally cross to the other side of the street when they see me coming :p

My Hanzo (closest breed is a Texas Heeler/Cattle dog) loves cats, people, dogs. Come to my door like a thug, and he fucking goes off. He is not 'racist'. We have latino, black, white, etc in the neighborhood. He just knows when there is an asshat at the door. Sweetest dog ever. Best of all he loves me.

good job dog, do your job. i usually walk at night at the parks around here. i've seen a few hood rats out there and i love walking out of the shadows by myself only to have 160lbs of meat and potatoes follow me in the distance. no one even comes close to me.

stupid drunks, drinking is so cool.

glad you're ok op.

aww great dane pup :D

i'm a HUGE great dane fan and know almost all there is to know about them. amazing dogs. the best dog i've ever had was a great dane.

anyways, i have a neapolitan mastiff who LOVES everyone and everything. but, if you give him the wrong vibe and look threatening in ANY way, he will give off some DEEP, harsh, threatening barks that would scare off just about anyone (even though all he would probably do is wait to be petted... submissive dope).

Last time I got it a fist fight was with 6 drunk guys at a strip club.

I picked up two at a time and dumped them in the back of my van. After got all 6 in drove them to the hotel they were staying at on the end of the Island and carried them two by two to their rooms.

They came back to the club the next night and thanked me and my wife for "handling" them so well.

The strippers thanked me too :)

And yet you've got what appears to be a prong collar on him. Shame on you.
