Some Decent Vista Gaming Numbers

The OpenGL is still horible, but at least some of the D3D games are only a few frames in vista from what they are in XP.

Maybe Vista isnt completely a lost cause for gaming.

I've found D3D gaming to be pretty comparable to XP on my X1900XT as well. I'm just waiting for ATI's next driver release, hoping it will have OpenGL support. They should be coming soon.

Why anyone would declare Vista a "lost cause for gaming" at this point is beyond me.

1. The final release of the OS is not yet available.
2. Most (all?) of the drivers available are still in the beta stages.

When all is said and done and the drivers stabilize a bit, my guess is that the performance hit for Vista will be minimal at worst.
