Some Comcast questions

- What ports can I expect to see blocked?

- Do they issue more than one dynamic IP? I have a multifamily house with one rental unit, and I'd like to offer free wireless internet, but I don't want them on my network. I figured I'd run the cable modem into the uplink of a switch, and have two different routers off the switch pulling separate IPs. Comcast's restrictive subnetting should take care of the rest.

In case the answers vary regionally, I'm in Cambridge, MA.

Comcast doesen't block ports, but they are known to thorottle if you're slamming for weeks on end.... you get one IP, dynamic, unless you want to pay extra for a business package. Your best bet about separating the networks would be to setup a linux box with IPCop or something. Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead providing someone else with internet for liablity reasons. I'd be furious if the RIAA came after me...
