Some Clarification

"No offense BlancoNino, but you don't strike me as anything close to a libertarian. "

I had realized that when I first joined AT's forums, I was a huge supporter of Bush and spent most of my time posting in P&N supporting him....well....

Just to clarify, I was a big supporter of Bush and a blind republican. After confessing all of my views on politics, I realized that republicans were completely the wrong party to associate myself with, and I got sick of trying to justify the Republican party's actions and expansions of government and laws. I simply don't like them.

You can quote all of my old posts about supporting Bush. I realize what I have said in the past, but I have changed my mind. I admit I was wrong on many issues.

It takes a big man to admit he changed. I applaud you for the courage to say so. (I would say the same thing if you switched from bashing Bush to supporting him too.)

*applauds* I must say I'm impressed. Kudos to you for having the stones to critique yourself like that, shows maturity and integrity. It's a true pleasure to see those qualities develop on this forum, instead of almost continually watching them decline thanks to a certain vocal crowd.

Wish I could send you a !

WE ALL LOSE

I identify myself as "liberal" but I disagree with the Democratic party on a lot of things, so like many people I am really somewhere in the middle. Blindly following the party line is never a good path to go down.

I lived in the deep south of the U.S. for many years. I found an interesting fact. Democrats in the South are overwhelmingly Conservative, but are regestered as Democrats. Whenever I asked why, they said it was because of politics being as they are. They vote for Republican Presidents but Democratic local officials, or vice-versus. They feel that all politicians need to be taken with suspicion and a whole shaker of salt. they can keep their own eyes on the locals, but neeed the locals to watch Washington. Who better that the opposing party?

Southern wisdom is soooo common sensical.
