Somehow I plug in the cable into my AIW card, but the max channel i can go up to is 99, is there anyway to go beyond channel 99 ?? This is just a straight coax cable split from my cable box... is that the max channles u can get ? cuz i would really like to be able to record my HBO or showtime =]

Do you have to use a digital cable box for those channels?

On my Comcast cable all the channels above 99 are purely digital, so you need a digital set-top box for those. None of the AIW cards have these yet. I also believe that digital cable still hasn't really been standardized yet, and there's a lot of value-added features like video on demand (which I quite like in Comcast's implementation) and Pay-Per-View and that you have to deal with when making such a card (and getting it to run right on your cable), so they are still kinda rare compared to analog capture cards.

You need to have the cable box decode the premium channels anyway, so you'll need to connect into the AIW from the cable box, and use channel 3/4 with coax, or the S-Video and/or RCA (composite) and pick the connector from the PVR to record/watch on your PC.

Hmm thought so too, i guess that's the only way then, cuz i thought i can juss get by without renting another cable box, guess that required...

when you said, "use channel 3/4 with coax", you saying turn to channel 3/4 on my AIW card right? ;D
