some brand questions

Some friends are wanting me to recommend brands of video cards, mobo, burners, ect. Right now which is top 3 brands of each hardware?
Also which is currently the best 2-3 chipsets out on the mobo?

Video card
Burner(CD-RW)
Motherboard(brands also which is the top chipsets)
Memory
ect

Video ATI 9700 pro-
Nvidia GF FX

Burner--> Pioneer, Plextor--> JMO LiteOn best value

Motherboard--> Asus A7n8x NForce Chipset I like Asus, many here say the Epox Nforce board is the best. I dunno about Intel, as I don't follow their chipsets that much. I've always had good luck with Asus boards.

Memory-->Crucial, personally I haven't had problems with Kingston.

I have the 266 chipset on my mobo, and haven't had probs with that. I think anything upwards of the 133a chipsets are pretty good and stable from what I know.

The rankings are in no particular order

video cards

Depends on what you want to do. If its gaming/general comp stuff =

ATI
Gainward
Sapphire

Burners

Yamahe
Plextor
Lite On

Motherboards

Depends on what CPU you are going with. I have bought nothing but ASUS for the last few years. They have both AMD and Intel covered with a wide range of boards.

Memory

Samsung original
Kingston
Corsair

The 3 for each group leaves out a number of other good companies. But in general if you buy something from one of those manufacturers you can't go wrong.

What are the most talked about brands? The ones thats been listed? Also which is currently 2 top mobo chipsets for AMD and P4?
