Does it matter if some AS is remaining on the ceramic? If so, how do I get it off? The acetone doesn't seem to remove it.

I clean it off the ceramic substrates with dawn dishsoap and hot water with a tooth brush. the ceramic absorbs quite a bit of the heat from the hot water so when you are done it kinda drys itself like a hot rock. I hit it good with the blow dryer though just to make sure it is good and dry before i reinstall it.

Acetone should remove it, but AS can be a pain to remove. Alchohol (no not the drinking kind) works too :)

Get it off if you possibly can, its slightly conductive. It does leave a little bit of a stain though. If its still really 'silvery' and able to be smeared, you can still get more off, I used TP and alcohol then finished it off with lens cleaner (lint free) when I had to take AS3 off of my xp CPU. Recently I bought a 14g tube of Arctic alumina and another 3g tube of AS3 when I ran out of the AS3. Actually I just gave the rest to a friend but "i ran out". Im using Alumina on my CPU right now and its going along at very nice temperatures and it is MUCH MUCH easier to clean up. It doesnt smear or anything like AS3, was the same price for both syringes at SVC a week or so ago too :D
