Some Apartment Questions

My roommate and I moved into an apartment on the first of the month. The kitchen floor was the only thing that had been cleaned (however, not under any of the appliances), and the rest of the apartment was just gross (carpet included). The carpet finally got replaced on the 5th, however, they haven't done anything about the mold in the bathroom, the sticky stuff that's basically coating the kitchen cabinets (we've tried to clean it and failed miserably), and the stove burners that don't ignite even though we've called numerous times about it (and I do have a list of dates and who I talked to). They even had a work list written up, but left it on our kitchen counter, unfinished.

Is there anything else I can do to get these guys off their bums and over here to get this stuff done? (I'm especially concerned about the mold... it doesn't scrub off... I've tried).

Also: My roommate ordered DirectTV last week. The guy was supposed to be here on Saturday (he even called her to say that he would be here at 4). He didn't show. On Monday, she called to ask when he'd be coming, and he said he'd be here Tuesday. He called yesterday afternoon to say that he forgot about his son's football game and couldn't make it. So he rescheduled for today at 5. 45 minutes late so far, he's not here. Anything we can do in this situation?

-moved into apartment this month
-nothing had been cleaned
-bad mold
-stove burners don't ignite
-managers do know about all of this (talked to them numerous times)

-DirectTV
-no show on first scheduled day (Saturday)
-rescheduled and cancelled (for Tuesday)
-rescheduled for today at 5, so far a no show

Did you not walk it before you signed the lease? Seriously, your fault. (About the stuff)

In regards to the DirecTV guy - sometimes those guys are seperate contractors with contracts with DirecTV. You might try calling DirecTV and asking for a different guy.

Yes, I did walk it. I was told that they have a contract with the cleaning crew so everything would be taken care of before we moved in. The day we moved in, the guy said that the cleaning crew got confused, went to a different building, had nothing to do there and left. (There was actually a work list for them here that we found). They did say if we send them a letter saying how many hours we spent cleaning, they could reimburse us (they acknowledged the lack of cleanliness on move in)

But especially with the mold, isn't that the apartment management's responsibility to take care of since it's a health issue?

and thanks about the TV thing... I didn't know about the contractors.

are you sure it's mold and not mildew? Mold is a really serious issue, whereas mildew is more of just a stain.

Actually, mildew is a generic term for various molds and fungi.
