Legend of Galatic Heroes
A little dated, but a great plot, and good music.
Epic cast of voice actors. Epic.

Now and Then, Here and There
Short, top quality, great ending.

Hikaru No Go
Four months later, I still have the theme music stuck in my head. Engaging plot, and short enough to watch the whole series in a reasonable timeframe.

I love Hikaru No GO!!! Plus, theres also Yakitate Japan (about bread making).

You mean the Hellsing OVA? I've personally never watched the series or the new OVA, but I've only heard good things about it.

Wait, is hack sign that annoying anime where its like a game? I remember one anime where the characters were like "HEAL" and using potions just like in RPG games. It got so annoying because the girl kept saying "HEAL" to heal the guy who was fighting. MOST STUPID ANIME EVER. Not sure it is hack sign but i know where was an anime like that.

A lot of the Top 200 is not the type of Anime that the OP wants to watch. You really think he wants to sit down and watch Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien? What about Maria Sama Ma Gitaru?

Lawls. Watch more of any of the .hack series. The story is awesome, the characters are awesome, music is awesome. I could go on for days. Also, the fact I'm an MMORPGer makes it even better.

Well, I think something we should establish first is how the OP likes to watch anime.
Subtitled? Dubbed? On R1 DVDs? Fansubs?

There's been a lot of good anime listed in this thread, but making a good recommendation needs more information.

Edit: Based on the series originally mentioned, I'm going to assume that it's DVDs, and as such, perhaps dubbed. Ergo, my own suggestions are Last Exile and Samurai 7.
