Hi AnandTech members, I am in the process of choosing a GPU and require some assistance in deciding which way to go.
Firstly my requirements are as follows:
Just a bit of background, I'm in South Africa, so the options I present might seem strange from a price point of view, but alas these are my options that I have come up with after extensive research of our local online retailers and one direct supplier I have access to.
Great so long story short, I have access to the following two cards who are at the moment almost identically priced, but I am struggling to make I final choice:
1. GTX 570 (Generic / Reference model)
2. ASUS HD 6950 Direct CUII
Just to throw a curve ball in, if someone can really truly help me justify this, for around 20% more I can pick up an ASUS HD 6970 Direct CUII, but not sure it's worth it.
Any help in making this decision easier would be greatly appreciated.
Firstly my requirements are as follows:
- 1080P Gaming
- 2-3 Years
(With the second point I mean, which GPU will serve me best for the next 2-3 Years. I am under no illusion that any of the GPU's in my price range will keep running games at max for that long, I purely want the one that would best serve me over that period.)
