Some advice on dealing with online vendors needed

I just ordered Norton Systemworks 2002 and PCAnywhere from East Outlet for $22 shipped. Great price and the shipping was fast (ordered Thursday afternoon, got on Saturday). One thing that I noticed though was on the invoice they just print out the order screen that Yahoo stores gives them. This page includes you full credit card number and expiration date (instead of xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-9191 for example). I sent an e-mail to them on Saturday, but they haven't responded yet. I'll give them a few more days to respond on the issue..

What I'm wondering from everyone is would you feel comfortable in this situation? If anyone would have taken the package, they would have everything needed in order to use my credit card. It makes me feel uncomfortable.. I've dealt with several other online vendors for a few years now and they have all crossed out the credit card numbers to protect privacy..

Any thoughts?

Hmm, I wonder if that is illegal. It should be. Yes, I would feel uncomfortable if my full CC was on an easily accessible invoice.

I think you are fully justified in your reaction, and that you are responding appropriately. good luck in attempting to change that company's SOPs.

You do realize that your credit card statement each month also has the entire credit card number on it? Anybody could also steal that. You're fretting about nothing.

You're right, they do put the full credit card number on account statements. But they don't include the expiration date, which is always necessary to complete a transaction.. although I know this isn't foolproof.. I remember orders going through when I've entered the wrong expiration date by accident. Even so, I'd feel safer without all that info available.

Btw, I'm not talking bad about the transaction. The prices and shipping were great. I plan on giving them a positive rating whenever they respond (I'll just write about this privacy thing in the notes)
