Can anyone respond as to why after partitioning and formating my new Maxtox hard drive (2) drive letters were assigned to the 3.5 ide floppy drive.

I installed my operating system and when I go to Control Panel, both the A and B drive letters are both assigned to the floppy drive. The A: drive is the only one that works since I have
only (1) floppy drive. Furthermore, I don't have any other drives such as a zip.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

only time that ever happened to me was when I tried to put a IDE Zip drive in my Pooter.

Turns out it wasn' t set properly in the IDE Chain (Cable Select when it should have been slave), and that fixed it.

drives A and B are default for floppy drives, whether you have 1 or more. Think thats pretty much basic for everyone
