I am running a LAN with a 2Gb/s connection and jumbo frames enabled, and I am trying to find out if this might be the cause for WHS issues I am having. On one client (the only one with 2Gb/s Intel NIC), WHS backups freeze at 25%. I have done a lot of troubleshooting up to this point (reinstalled and reconfigured the server, etc), but nothing seems to help. Just wondering if anyone else is running any kind of configurations similar to this, and has any input.

I will follow-up with detailed hardware specs & info.

Issue was with software and not hardware. So nothing in the hardware configuration was creating a problem. I have successfully completed a backup with software changes to the client machine. The problem exists with either the Windows 7 Firewall or SUPERAntiSpyware Professional (or both).

BTW the NIC is NOT a 2Gb nic, and in order for the teaming to actually work you have to have a switch that actually supports it. Most/all consumer level switches do not. You need something that supports LACP. Also, jumbo frames does not always seem to make stuff faster, and in my experience it slows everything down.

Yes, I understand. I mis-typed when I wrote 2Gb NIC. My switch is a HP ProCurve 1800-24G, and all settings for LACP are setup correctly, and link aggregation is working correctly. Since I'm working on increasing the networking throughput for faster backups and the like, jumbo frames has helped thus far.

And all network devices (including NICs) have the latest drivers.

Hardware:

Routers used, should they affect the network any, but they shouldn't since they are upstream. (Primary and secondary are in a different subnet, with the server / client machines being in the secondary subnet).
All machines have the latest drivers, and all patch cables are store-bought. No problems with connectivity otherwise.

I'm also investigating possible issues such as AV software issues that might be a cause of the problem as well.

(solved)
It is an issue with one of the following: Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 (build 12.0.0.374), SUPERAntiSpyware Professional (current version and build), or Windows Firewall. During testing, I disabled all three and implemented testing while researching other methods as well, as I have had a successful backup of the client with WHS. So there is nothing wrong with the hardware implementation. Woohoo!

I'd put $5 on Kaspersky. Their software seems to come up a lot when it comes to interfering with other programs' network usage.
