Solved: Weird problem in Outlook

A coworker's machine has a really strange problem in Outlook with the background. It seems to default to blue, which is a problem since many people send blue text, and of course you can't read blue-on-blue without selecting the text that you don't know is even there.

I went into the forms properties and stationery properties looking for places to change it to white and tried a few things to no avail. Is there some kind of default background color setting somewhere that I'm missing?

I tried taking one of the blue backgrounded messages and forwarding it to myself. It came up on my machine fine (no blue background), so I know that the problem lies somewhere in her configuration. I just can't figure out where. Any help?

Hey, I came across some weird information on Microsoft's site I'd like to share:

On the Format menu:

Select Plain Text by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+O.
Note Although the Plain Text option appears to be unavailable on the menu, you can access it by using the keyboard commands rather than the mouse.

Now why would you disable an option and still make it selectable by keyboard command?

Edit: But I'm still looking for a solution, so any help is appreciated.

Problem solved. Apparently the HTML e-mails were assigning the background color specified in the Colors button in the Internet Options of the Control Panel.
