Question (SOLVED w/instructions) I NEED TO NUKE THIS F'ING GameBarPresenceWriter.exe file

I NEED TO WIPE THIS F'ING MISERABLE .exe file from existence! COMPLETELY slows my game machine down. I've turned off every Xbox feature, reg setting, etc. and it still activates!

GameBarPresenceWriter.exe I can't delete, rewrite, change the extension etc.

I presume this is what you've tried?

I did a quick search and it seems like a lot of in-depth folder permission crap is needed.. I'll have a look at that..

Everytime I close out a window in UT4, and it's taking like 5 seconds to do anything, that file is always the culprit

EDIT: yup, did all that, still activates

You might try to remove the Microsoft Game Bar. However, I'd really suggest you do a full system backup before you mess with it any further.

Part of the article reads like you can uninstall it and still run games, just that you loose its functionality.

DIE YOU F'N POS

Disable GamePresenceWriter HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsRuntime\ActivatableClassId\Windows.Gaming.GameBar.Pres enceServer.Internal.PresenceWriter

To Change Activation type to 0. Right click the registry key and select Permission. Click Advanced. Click 'Change' by TrustedInstaller' and add 'Adminstrators' to the 'Enter the object name to select' box. Check Full Control to 'Administrators' and nuke that f'n pos.
