I have a sprinkler head that broke off. There is a male-male adapter that screws onto the sprinkler head (which I removed) and the other side of the male adapter broke off in the ground, where the T joint is at.

It sheared off, so there is nothing to grab to from the outside, have to get something inside the adapter to unscrew it out. Any ideas on how to get a grip from the inside to back it out?

Is it open in the middle? If so, insert pliers, open pliers, turn to loosen. I've only removed broken light bulbs with this trick.

This is a must have tool in the homeowner arsenal. It is made of the lowest quality "metal" you can find, but it works well enough and has saved me many times...after my neighbor's kid stepped on my sprinkler head again, and again, and again. You'd think they would offer to fix it, or at least let me know before I see the (missing) sprinkler geyser. Nope!

If its pvc, just stick a pruner blade into the broken piece, gently seat it, and turn out the nub.
