Hey guys, I just got my new system, all works well except my sound. I downloaded all the latest drivers, including version 6.66 nforce4 driver package and all latest drivers for my sound card. When I go to device manager it tells me PCI Bridge device is not installed and has the ?. What gives?

System specs

Asus SLI Premium bios version 1005
Sound card Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
3800 X2
1 gig corsair 4440 ram
7800 GTX
2x250 gig NCQ SATA seagate drives

You need the PCI bridge or other devices will not work properly.

Try deleting the PCI Bridge device from Device Manager, reboot and it should re-detect it and may install the driver properly. Failing that, try uninstalling ForceWare, reboot, and then re-install them (download the latest drivers if you haven't already).

I have noticed that Asus mobos don't always like the latest generic Forceware driver from NVidia. You might have better luck installing the latest drive from Asus's website. It might now be as new as the NVidia one, but it will be guaranteed to be compatible with the mobo.

Hope this helps...

I have fixed it. The missing PCI Bridge device was the NV ethernet controller. By installing the driver for it, or disabling it in the bios, both get rid of the problem.
