Someone on Tom's hardware helped me resolve the issue.

I'm not exactly certain whether this is the correct place to ask this, but yesterday I upgraded my 5½ -year-old PSU with a RM650x. My computer is a intel 4570, GTX 770, B85M-G. Everything seemed to work fine throughout the entire day after the upgrade. I even did a simultaneous GPU and CPU stress test that ran for 10 minutes and everything worked fine.

But when I turned on the computer this morning I get a black screen with just a line (-> _ <-) in the middle after the regular Asus motherboard splash screen. Does anyone have any idea as to what might have happened and how I could possibly fix it?

How the black screen looks: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h0m22z1tekzao8a/IMG_20190102_082533.jpg?dl=0

For further information:
- I can hear the GPU and chassis fans spin up. The rear chassis fan gets its power directly from the motherboard.
- I'm only getting out from the GPU video output plugs, and the motherboard video plugs give me a black screen.
- The keyboard and mouse are not getting any power, and LEDs are not lighting up
- I've never had previous instability issues, so this one probably stems from a mistake during upgrade, though it puzzles me why the computer worked just fine the day before.

At this point I'm not even sure as to where the error is, the motherboard, PSU or perhaps the third place...
I very much appreciate any help you guys could provide =)

Sounds similar to a problem I occasionally have, what was the solution?

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3858414/screen-black-mobo-splash-screen-psu-upgrade.html

I have no idea what happened, but as I opened up my computer to look inside and booted it up with an open side panel it booted up just fine.

I'm a bit confused as to why this even happened, but it seems to be solved. So thanks for the help, and I apologize if the resolution was a bit anticlimactic.

Possible case of a technical poltergeist, or PEBCAK? ;)

Seriously though, outside of that, I have no idea based on their "solution". Maybe a PSU cable was slightly loose or something.
