[Solved] Question about removing plastic on aftermarket ink cartridges.

I've had pretty good luck with cheap aftermarket ink cartridges. I just received a batch and need to know if I have to remove the clear plastic in the picture. I picked at the tip of the plastic and that is why it's curled up. Normally there is a yellow plastic strip wrapped from left to right in that area that needs to be removed before use like in the pic here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-Multi-Pa...719582?hash=item19f96af85e:g:whcAAOSwX~dWry84

The vendor said it doesn't need removed and to try it. I don't want to try it and risk running the print head dry damaging it.



Edit: I gave it a try with the plastic in place and it seems to work unless it's still drawing the ink leftover in the well.
