Hi,

I am posting this because I want to make sure everything is compatible (dimension-wise), especially the case, HSF, video card, mobo, and PSU. I don't want to buy a component then return it after realizing it's too large and won't fit...

I've done a lot of research and decided to buy the following for my new build (linkage only for reference, I can't buy from newegg in Ukraine):

Case: Lian Li (Lancool) PC-K7B
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 BX80570E8400
HSF: Noctua NH-U12P
Mobo: ASUS P5K Pro
Video: ASUS EN9600GT/HTDI/512M
RAM: Corsair 4 GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800 MHz (TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX)
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-550VX
Monitor: (I'll ask about it in the LCD thread, if needed)

1. My PC will be used for browsing, web developing, a little bit of image editing, and maybe gaming once a week (I hope).

2. Budget: I've already picked the components; anything that could cost me less is more than welcome. But I want the PC to last, so no skimping!

3. I live in Ukraine now, so not everything might be available. Thankfully, the prices here are acceptable.

4. I don't have any brand preference, but I already decided on an Intel platform.

5. I already have 2 HDDs that I will use. Everything else I will need to buy.

6. I searched and read a lot of info about the components that I picked, but I couldn't find any system that includes all of the following:
-PC-K7B
-ASUS P5K PRO
-ASUS EN9600GT/HTDI/512M
-Noctua NH-U12P.

7. I like overclocking. Not obsessed with it though. I like to try everything!

8. I want to build this system asap! Nest week maximum.

Thanks in advance!

Only suggestion would be to see if there is a Radeon 4850 available for a similar price to the 9600GT you've chosen. I know it was a fluke but I just picked one up at Best Buy for $150, not much more than I gave for my 9600GT two months ago.

Ok what really is the difference between the P5K PRO and the P5K-E?!!
PRO has EPU, which is useless when overclocking. What else?

I already have some parts being shipped; the case and the HSF are already here.

Thanks.

I just ordered the ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP , as there's no p5k-e "vanilla" to be found anywhere...
I hope it's not a mistake... what do you think? I can still remove it from the order!

For the record, everything fit perfectly! I got the BenQ G2400W monitor for this system, and I love it.
Thanks for the replies.
