In my new build, I used an MSI ATI Radeon HD6450 1 GB DDR3 VGA/DVI/HDMI viewo card. I have a DVI monitor, and it has been working fine in DVI mode on my old ASUS board with onboard video.

When I plugged the monitor into the new MSI card, the only thing that shows up is STD VGA.

Do I need to install the drivers to get DVI, I would think that would be auto recignized via the DVI cable.

Thanks

If you plug in DVI cable and get picture to screen you are indeed using DVI. But your resolution is standard VGA until you install video cards drivers....

Thanks. I will get the latest drivers and install them.

Should I get them from MSI, or ATI?

I looked at MSI, and under graphics cards, they only listed downloads for AMD and NVIDIA, which seems a bit odd.

VGA is refering to the resolution. Just install the driver and you'll be fine.
