solved my winamp3 problems

By going back to 2.8!! j/k...

Actually I've been frustrated like many have with how slow winamp responds to everything. I've noticed that it's now much better after I double click the titlebar and put it in 'mini' mode instead of just minimizing it to the system tray. Then I set it to always be on top and dock it to the top of my screen. I actually prefer it being always displayed now that I've gotten used to it.

You guys are funny. Yeah...I know it's slow...that's why I'm posting about how to make it faster...

Although I appreciate the 4 responses that just restate that winamp3 is slow...really..I do...thanks you guys.

Anyway, everything except startup happens instantly for me now so I'm happy.

Hmmm..it's never crashed on me.

I just added a directory to my playlist today...no problems. I'm using version 3.0c.

I also play winamp 6-9 hours a day here at work (software dev).

Can anyone add songs to a playlist without the fvker crashing?

Dummy, that's one of advanced features.

BTW, the Null soft guys said that its slow because the computers are slow (meaning they probably wont fix the slowness, using the example of how slow 2.x ran on 486's).

I'm using it at home right now, but i went back to 2.9 at work. As soon as girder has better interaction with 2.x, I'll retreat to it.

Try opening up windows explorer while winamp is playing a song, right click on the file, and hit enqueue in winamp. Lemme know if it crashes.

It does EVERYTIME for me 🙁

Im usin an Athlon 2400+ w/512 PC2100 so i know it aint the slowness of my rig.

I LOVE WinAmp 2.9. (Released very recently.)

The Library is a NICE feature, with Internet Radio/TV streams listed there. And it has a video player in it, but surprising it is not bloated.

I reccomend checking it out if your a 2.8/ANTI 3.0 Fan like me.

2.9 is what 3.0 should've been. 🙂
