Solved: Maxtor Diagnostic Code

Tried to enter the Maxtor Diagnostic Code in the online RMA form on the Maxtor site but they want an 8 digit code.

The code I get is not 8 digits it is like (not exactly of course) this.: hio629xxxxxxak78

What am I supposed to enter?

I ran the Maxtor Diagnostic 3 times and the code is the same every time.

Anyone familiar with this?

Well I called there tech support and I spoke with a very nice tech.

Told me that the code was indeed valid but that the only way to get RMA number was to call them.

Should get my new drive in 5 days.

So, if you get a strange code, just give them a call.
