I've bought a new Toshiba Satellite A10 that had XP home pre-installed. Naturally, I installed XP Pro from scratch, and that happened without a hitch. Now, I'm trying to install a SMC 2632W wireless PC card, version 1 (one LED), so I can communicate with my lan. (All other machines in my house use Win2k Pro, btw, and I've successfully installed the 2632W that way. I can go back to 2k for the new machine but really want to start working with XP Pro.)
No go. Nothing. Nada. Bupkis. Nyet.
I've gone to the SMC website and tried nearly every download patch they have. The v 1.29 won't work, nor will the 1.32 files work either. These have subdirectories for WINXP, but the XP hardware wizard can't find whatever it's looking for.
SMC tech help has been unhelpful, as usual. ("Make sure Windows Explorer will show system files...")
Ideas?
