Solved: Inspiron 6000 - Sticky cursor/pointer/touchpad or???

rip

I've got two Inspiron 6000s I'm working on. When using the touchpad the cursor will hang for a second or several seconds; very random, very intermittant, very annoying. USB mouse works fine. Fresh install of XP Pro on one and XP Home on the other. I've either got a freak coincidence of two bad touchpads or something else I'm totally unaware of. Just wondering if anyone else had run across this. thanks,
Dana

Thought I had this solved this morning:
Incorrect memory in both machines. One had 333Mhz and the other had 400Mhz. The 6000 likes 533.

Switched out memory and one of the machines ran like a champ almost all day. Now, same problem.......hmph

Edit 02/10/09: Solved, finally! Knockoff AC adapter. It seemed to be fine and would charge OK but there must be some marginal voltage problem while charging that makes the cursor/computer hang for a second, or several.
