The monitor once it would go to sleep was very difficult to wake up. The light on the monitor would stay yellow, and never turn blue. You would have to power cycle the monitor. The monitor was connected to the computer built in video and dvi port.

Solution was to change settings on the monitor in the menu.
Menu> Source Control
Auto-Switch Source change this to off, default is on

It seems like the monitor wouldn't look at it's DVI port to wake up. I was going to use a dvi>hdmi cable to connect the computer the the monitor, but this worked.

What works for me with never a hiccup is to set the monitor to always on. Then when I leave the room, I simply tap my finger on the lower right corner and turn it off manually. It never fails and comes on instantly by again tapping the lower right corner. Admittedly, that lacks the "gee whiziness" factor of software. :)
