I'm switching over my 2 old Dell laptops to LinuxMint (13) from XP... my older one (2005) took the new OS in stride and I have wireless... no problem. My daughter's Dell, a dual-core AMD Inspiron 1501 from 2007 is another story.
It has a Broadcom wifi card and needs the BCM4311 driver to work; I've researched it a bit online and to say I'm confused about how to go about it would be an understatement. The included driver utility in Linux is no help and won't install. Most of the stuff I'm seeing online is old... 2006-2009 stuff with older OS's, and I'm wondering if I need to go through all the trouble they seem to have to in order to get wireless.
Anyone help me out on this?
