I took off the northbridge cooler of my Abit KR7A-Raid and replaced it with a Celeron heatsink in attempts to quiet my system down. My system won't boot now. I have discharged the CMOS and put it back into the default position and have checked the ATX power cable. I have connected the northbridge fan just in case the BIOS won't let me boot without a fan. I've put the original northbridge cooler back on and tried all that too. I have also checked the system headers. The amber light in the lower right hand corners is on when the power is on. When I press the power button, the red and green light flash once and the fans move a tiny bit. Please help. What do the lights indicate? Is this a motherboard problem?

Thanks for the reply przero. I PMed mechBgon yesterday and he helped me solve the problem. It was some issue with grounding or some crud like that. I'm not quite sute what solved my problem. It was either taking away extraneous standoffs or using red washers on all the screws. Thanks for the reply.

Try switching the PSU on and off. I had the same issue with an Abit NF7-S. I swapped the PSU and it booted fine. Then I put the old PSU back in and it booted fine. 1 other thing. Look on the board for any bad capacitors. that is an issue with older Abit boards.
