SOLVED - Dragon Age Origins: Go back a chapter?

I want to go back to get the dog but didn't realize that once I talked to the Grey Warden that I would lose the ability to go back to finish that quest. But there are no game saves before this! I don't want to have to restart from scratch! Is there a way to just go back to a previous chapter?

Thanks!

Or is there a way to enable more than 5 save spots? Any way to have like 30 or infinite number of saves? Or at least a locked in save at the beginning of every chapter. I thought Mass Effect allowed this which is MUCH better.

Solved, it seems there is a difference between QUICK save (F5) and a regular save (ESC then SAVE GAME). And on the PC there is unlimited number of regular game saves. I didn't know this, a bit annoying that I can't just get unlimited quick saves but it solves my problem. Thanks!

Meh, I missed the dog (I assume I did anyway). Going back to redo things ruins RPGs. No point giving a game consequences if you don't have to live with your choices.

Minor spoiler alert about the $7 dowloadabke moduke follows.

There is a sub quest for nice items there I didn't see until after I cleared it but went right back to get them and the building door is just pointlessly closed, you have to go to a save game.

Bad design imo.

Whille I'm at it I also dont't care for pne time dialogue you miss out on, like when you o to a religious leader who asks for a donation first chat but you can't donate later (not sure if it has an effect).

Lothering? It will boost Leliana's approval (if she was in your party at the time) and nothing else.

I wonder if anyone tried to beat the game alone -- by asking all the party members to leave.... Haha.
