SOLVED! (CHECK INSIDE) how to save a video stream?

i wanna save a video stream from a website...i tried looking in the Temp Internet folder to see if there was a file there but no luck

SOLUTION:
after some digging around on google i was able to find a great utility (tho with a somewhat poor GUI)...but it did the job. i recommend this utility (WMRecorder) and it is actually up to date (5/2003)

go over to the Software forums, at the top is a sticky of the best little "apps", somewhere in there I read about an app that records streaming video from a site. Go browse, its a good thread nevertheless.

i have the .asx url...but no success with either ASFrecorder and StreamBox VCR...both these programs are outdated (2001)...any other suggestions? i would love to have this clip about my vball team even tho we lost

Atleast with the .asx files I've dealt with recently, if you open them up in notepad the video they point to is there in plain text. Then just change your URL to have the new filename in it, and you should be set.

Cool, now you can record all those live webcam whore sites you like to visit. Cummon, you know you do it....that's why I use Streambox VCR anyway
