Hey all. I built a new nice little computer for my gf and everything went smoothly but the usb 3.0 host controller which would not install.

Here's the specs of the rig:
MOBO : ASRock A75M
CPU : AMD A6-3650
MEM : G.Skill 2x2gb DDR3-1333
HDD : WD Blue 320gb SATA3
DRIVE : ASUS CD/DVD Burner SATA
PSU : Antec Earthwatts Green 380W 80+ bronze

So, I installed Win7 Pro 64bits and updated everything. In the Bios, USB 2.0 and 3.0 are enabled. In the device manager, there's 2 USB Host Controller with the yellow !. I tried eveything, from looking for drivers with Windows Update and installing the 2 USB 3.0 controller drivers from the modo CD (Asmedia and Etron) but nothing.

At lunch i'm gonna try to flash the BIOS to the latest version and see if it works. But after that I can't see what I can do...

I also read that since Win7 SP1, Windows didn't update corerctly thr USB drivers and there was some kind of missing files, i'll try to find a fix from Microsoft but that's really the only thing I still think doing.

Apart from that single trouble, everything runs really well. I'm really impressed but this APU price/performance ratio. Didn't tried any games or anything heavy with the rig but she's gonna be a happy geek's gf!

Any help would be appreciated and many thanks!

Isn't the USB3 in A75M native? Try looking for AMD drivers.

You made me think about something, on the ASRock mobo driver disk there's an AMD AllInOne driver kit, which includes Catalyst, SATA3, Ethernet and audio drivers, didn't saw mentions of USB 3.0 drivers in there but I think i'm gonna uninstall all of these drivers (that I installed manually) and reinstall this all-in-one kit.

Might be the solution...

Thanks Larry!

Maybe unrelated, but I'm also having some odd USB issues with my Extreme4 Z68. An update to the latest USB didn't resolve it. I have a USB thumb drive that won't work on this PC only, and I also had a new Logitech HD camera installer hang for 10 minutes, then mysteriously finish. (All this in non-overclocked mode).

As I understand it, these M/Bs are using a newer controller (Entron?) and I'm suspicious of it now. I think there are bugs to work out. It also doesn't help that I emailed ASRock support yesterday and have still not received a response on the issue.

Like you, I really liked the board. The features on it for the price are great. But I've lost confidence in ASRock and can't afford to be wasting time when I have work to do, so am replacing it with an ASUS. If the issue clears up with the new M/B I'll post here to update.

Ok, I downloaded the AMD AllIn1 drivers from the ASRock website and it worked...sometimes the simplest things...hahahah!

@mrjoltcola: I'd try that!

Installing drivers FTW! Thanks for the update. Most people would be too embarrassed to admit that.

Thanks! When I think I flashed the BIOS, uninstalled/reinstalled everything and those drivers were there staring and waving at me...

Glad you figured it out. I was gonna say download the All in one driver from the CD. :) I have a very similar setup as you. Nice stable board btw.

I have yet to find this driver on AMD's site.
