I've googled to no avail, i've found programs to change it...but none to find out the key that I am actually using :(

I've lost my cd case somewhere in my basement (that just flooded) And I am going to need to reinstall the game soon. I have it installed currently...so, if people know how to change it why can't they retreieve the key you're using currently?

Any help is appriciated...

yeah...unfortunatly i keep the manual with the cd case...and well, the cd case is what has the cd key on it, and thats what's missing. On top of that i can get frozen throne for cheaper shipped on fleabay...it just would've been nice to be able to recover it somehow since it is already installed.

There are programs you can download to view/change your key - but personally I wouldn't trust them since they're third-party and very well could email your key to someone for them to use.

I think that's the only way to get it though, so you may have to resort to that. This is what I'd do.

Download the program, then scan it with a virus scanner. Disconnect your computer from the network and run the program (so if it sends the key immediatly upon running it won't be able to). Write down your key, then scan your entire computer again (to make sure it didn't install a trojan or something) while still disconnected from the network.

If it's all clean, reconnect and you should be fine. I know it sounds paranoid, and there are probably legit key-extracters out there, but its not worth taking the chance.

If you remember at least vaguely what your key looks like, you might be able to recognize it when you see it.

any idea what a program is that will let you view it?

I have only had luck finding programs that let you change it, not see what you currently are using. I had one for battlefield 1942 that let me do this, but I'm having problems finding one for warcraft 3 frozen throne. nothing seems to be in the registry either.
